Achievement
Awards Committee
This
committee is in charge of planning the entire Production
and Traffic Achievement Awards presentation with the
exception of the judging responsibilities, which are
handled by the APALA Executive Board. The committee
is in charge of producing all printed materials from
concept to delivery, including the Call to Entries,
the Invitation and Tickets of the event Program. Since
the Awards event is held in June, work does not usually
commence much before January and can get very hectic
in May.

The
Employment Committee supports the Print Production and
Traffic volunteers and reports to the Board of Directors.

Hospitality
Committee
The
Hospitality Committee is dedicated to welcoming all
members, new and old, to our monthly meetings. In addition,
at each meeting, we'll continue to have the "split the
pot" raffle. We do a really hard sell on this because
the proceeds go into our charity fund. The committee
calls new members and invite them to the monthly meetings.
Working on this committee is a nice way to get to know
other members of your club and help out at the same
time. Also, in June the chairman is responsible for
organizing the Hospitality Thank You Dinner that is
held in July.

Membership
Committee
The
duties of those on the membership committee include
soliciting new and past members, tracking memberships
and producing the annual directory. Soliciting new members
consists of sending out renewal notices and tracking
responses, with follow-up phone calls. New members can
be solicited through mailing that target non-members
or past members. Membership tracking is done through
the APALA offices. Counts have been provided to the
Blueline in the past for publication. Producing the
directory consists of a lot of proof- reading and coordination
with the printer and paper companies.

Newsletter
Committee
The
Newsletter Committee publishes the monthly Blueline.
On an annual basis, we determine a budget, solicit advertising
and determine the ad/issue schedule. On a monthly basis,
publishing the Blueline entails searching for material
to publish, collecting copy for the regular features,
organizing materials for the Mac artist, arranging for
film prep, printing, and mailing. In past years, advertising
has paid for paste-up, envelopes, postage and a few
miscellaneous expenses. The vendors have generously
donated photographic, pre-press, paper, printing and
mailing services.
Chair:
Jorge Velasquez
Online
Committee
The
Online Committee is responsible for publishing the APALA
Online website. Much of the editorial content will come
from the Blueline. Production schedules must be maintained
and updates coordinated with any design or programming
entities. Relations must be maintained with the website
hosts, Net.Intensive and GTS Innova Graphics.

Program
Committee
This
committee is in need of volunteers! The Program Committee
plans topics for the nine monthly meetings; determines
the program format (single speaker, Q & A forum, panel
discussion, facility tour); recruiting professional
speakers and creating budgets for each program; briefing
speakers/tour guides on intended goals of the meeting/tour
and helping to shape the content of the program; providing
the editors of the Blueline a summary of the upcoming
meeting; and writing and producing the monthly meeting
announcement. If you work on an event you receive complimentary
admission to the event.

Special
Events Committee
The
APALA created this committee so that it could offer
its members special programs and events in addition
to the regular meetings. This committee also organizes
the Client/Vendor Showcase.

Vendor
Advisory Committee
The
Vendor Advisory committee is responsible for advising
the APALA Board, from a vendor's perspective, about
various issues that are client/vendor related. These
issues can involve what is happening in the industry
technically, helping to build the association's image,
membership, employment, education, etc.
